Pre-Proposed Projects 2022
Pre-proposed projects (2021-2022)
Below are some descriptions of projects that you could be a part of if you joined Project Ignite. We write out some directions the project could take, but ultimately it will be up to you and your teammates. If none of these interest you, consider proposing your own project!
If you’re thinking about proposing your own project but you’re not sure where to start, our advice is to start with your own life. What inconveniences do you face on a day-to-day basis? What solutions might exist to these problems? We're excited to see what you come up with.

Shareable wearables
Description: With the rapid increase in demand for wearable technology, more and more companies are creating their own wearable devices. If you’ve ever wanted to create your own technology, now is the perfect time to try! Let’s investigate the details of usable product design, 3D modeling/printing, and prototyping.

The A* Team
Description: Make a Harry Potter Real life portrait that talks and get triggered by the people in front of it. The portrait follows the person's presence and throws random dialogues every now and then.
Keywords: graphics, computer vision
Environmental Technology
Description: Faced with a slough of environmental challenges, how could we use technology to create novel solutions? Creating an app to track people's footprint, building a prototype of some robotics devices, simulating a model with real-world data... Come up with your own idea, and we're here to help!

Game Theory & Fun
Description: How do you make decisions while playing your favorite games? Whether it's Monopoly or chess, different motivations go into each move you make across the board. We will cover the fundamentals of game theory and decision science in order to conduct surveys and understand how we play. Join us to learn the secrets to winning!

Music Theory for Beauti-full-er Minds
Description: Most people listen to music while performing different tasks, but do different genres of music affect productivity or performance? And does that change depending on the type of task? Choose a task, a few different genres, and test how productive people are with varying music.

Fruit Fly Project
Description: Ever worked with living organisms? Now's your chance! Work with mutated fruit flies to explore hands on how genetics is implemented in our everyday lives. In the first half of fruit fly camp we will walk you through mutating and analyzing flies to study conserved cancerous pathways. Then, in the second half we will pair you into groups and allow you to develop your own fruit fly experiment to research. Whether your chosen topic is cancer, stem cells, immunity, or the endocrine system, we will support you in any way we can!

Artificial Intelligence
Description: Artificial intelligence is in the process of solving core human challenges in applications ranging from autonomous driving and robotics to drug discovery and conversation. Computers are increasingly able to imitate, or even surpass, humans in decision making and prediction tasks. What interesting or important problem do you want to solve? Bring your ideas and we’ll work together to build it.
